Côte de Bergerac Moelleux AOC Chateau Comte de Beaulieu

The Côtes de Bergerac Moelleux is a wine that deserves to be known. A few years ago this sweet wine was considered as a "sub-Monbazillac". Today, it has acquired its own reputation among our customers. It is made from the same grape varieties as Monbazillac but in different proportions: Sémillon and Sauvignon. This sweet Côtes de Bergerac requires very ripe grapes in order to obtain a very fruity and aromatic wine. The delicacy of its aromas is a perfect accompaniment to Duck or Goose Foie Gras, whose finesse it enhances.

Description:

Raised on a clay-limestone terroir with a controlled designation of origin, Côtes de Bergerac is a wine produced in the Purple Périgord, so called because of the presence of vineyards in this region of the Dordogne.

The AOC is located in the south-west of the Périgord region, on the same terroirs as the AOC Bergerac.

The sunshine and absence of rain in September concentrate the aromas of the grapes and moderate humidity in October favours the development of the noble rot which is essential for the production of great sweet wines.

Pale yellow in colour, its mellowness is round, subtle and fresh in the mouth.

This Côtes de Bergerac is composed of the same grape varieties as the Monbazillac but in different proportions: 50% Semillon and 50% Sauvignon.

This wine is very appreciated for its aromas of candied fruits and its pleasant bright straw colour due to the dominance of the Semillon grape variety.

The main qualities of the Côtes de Bergerac Moelleux are its aromas of exotic fruits, lychees and passion fruit.

On the other hand, the fact that it is much less sweet than a Monbazillac wine in particular makes it easier to drink and to accompany a greater number of dishes.
